Can you ever imagine a life without nature?
It is impossible isn’t it. Nature or Mother Nature is everything. Seasons are a part of nature. We can define season as the mirror of nature. They’re déeply related with us,but we aren’t always aware of it.
How Seasons affect our lives?
Seasons are strongly blended with our lives. They influence our life style very much. According to a traditional medical concept, seasons are related to five elements that can keep our bodies in better harmony. — Spring to Wood, Summer to Fire and Earth, Autumn to Metal, and Winter to Water. Some connects seasons with spirituality. But in my opinion seasons are those beautiful phenomena that God has created to replenish and refresh ourselves.
“The Idea of waiting for something makes it more exciting”.
We were discussing about seasons and it’s connection with our lives.
Now I like to depict a wonderful tradition which shows how Indians welcomes spring season. Just think that you are awaiting someone so special, then what will be your feelings is inexpressable. Like that , this reveals how much you are attached with season or you can say indirectly nature itself.
Let me come to the point, I am narrating about the festival that is so much blended with nature; Basant Panchami ; which was celebrated with great pomp in our society on 16th February. It is certainly a new experience for me and I kept on thinking how our ancestors lived a life with that much indulged and with respect for nature and also managed to pass on to generations to generations through these festivals.
his festival begins with Sarswati puja as Goddess Saraswati – The Devi of Arts and Studies is the main idol of this Basant Panchami.
After giving the offerings and prayers and puja was over, Children as well as adults gave some graceful performances as a devotion towards Ma Saraswati. According to Hindu mythology Goddess Saraswati was born on this auspicious day. As it is believed that favourite colour of Goddess Saraswati is Yellow, so everyone wears either yellow or orange mostly. Yellow colour is also important as it symbolises the yellow flowered mustard fields which are ready to harvest in the spring.
Festivals are occassions of Joy and Happiness. And these kind of festivals also keeps man closer to nature , also it gives a message that we have to conserve nature in its raw form not only for our kids; but also generations to come. I pray these kind of togetherness may happen again and again.
